For the past 49 years, the Senior Golfers Association, Est. 1977, has been operating a golf tour for a Membership of, currently, about 115 seniors.  Our season stretches from May through October, and, for 2025, was comprised of 24 rounds at popular golf courses in the Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga areas. To see the golf courses that we visited in 2025, click on this link: Check Google Maps. Golf  outings  are scheduled  for  Monday  of  each

week, excluding statutory holidays, and for Wednesday in any week that includes a statutory holiday on the Monday.

The SGA arranges for 18 holes of golf, with power cart, for each outing.  We are serious about our golf -- somewhat.  Scores are tracked for purposes of calculating each Member's SGA Handicap Index.  That Index, which is posted for each Member in the "For Members Only" area of this website, serves as the basis for determining Low Net winners during the season, for creating balanced foursomes for the two annual Scramble tournaments and for determining the Low Net winners, both for Members who are Super Seniors (over 80) and for Members who have not yet reached that age of perfect reason, at the annual Association Tournament.

In the pre-pandemic years, we tried to be more than just a golf group.  As our Members completed their rounds at an outing (on Monday outings only), they returned to the clubhouse, where they played cards or mingled with other Members over a beverage or two.  Once the last of the groups finished the round, Members sat down, in most cases, to a full buffet dinner, and, in others, to simpler fare. Following the meal, modest, but highly coveted, prizes were awarded (for the Low Gross and Low Net scores, the two Closest to the Pin shots, and all birdies, eagles, etc.), and a 50/50 draw was conducted.

Unfortunately, for 2020 and 2021, the post-game meals had to be discontinued. For 2022 through 2025, only a handful of post-game meals were possible owing to the dramatically increased cost to Members and the continuing inability, or unwillingness, of many of the courses that we patronized to cater the meals.  But prizes were still awarded during the season for the Low Gross and Low Net scores, and for all birdies, eagles and a number of ACES (one in 2020, another in 2021,  two more in 2023 and one in 2025), recorded at all weekly outings.

The costs per outing to each Member, for golf and cart, are negotiated with the various golf courses by our Outing Director. These costs averaged $85.00 per outing during 2025 (more, of course, for the four outings that included meals afterward).

We will be happy to welcome new Members for 2026.  If you would like to consider joining us but need more information, send a note to our Membership Director -- click here.  Alternatively, click here to access our Membership Application Form for the 2026 season.  Complete and submit the form, and our Membership Director will get back to you.
